Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has joked that Bruno Fernandes wants his job.
Both Amorim and Fernandes had appeared before the media ahead of Wednesday night’s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils skipper interrupted a reporter’s question with a comment about Amorim’s future ahead of the Europa League final.
United have endured a very poor season and currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, with just 39 points in 37 matches.
However, they still have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League via the Europa League final.
The reporter said: “Ange Postecoglou has just been in here answering questions about whether he might still be in his job whatever the result tomorrow.
“Are you surprised, grateful that you don’t seem to be under the same kind of pressure despite the fact that your team has a similar record?”
Before Amorim got the chance to reply, Fernandes interrupted as he joked: “He is. Who told you he’s not? He is.”
After they laughed, Amorim said: “He wants my job. He’ll be a very, very good coach but he has to work on his mindset, he doesn’t know how to deal with people.”
