Ex-Arsenal player Thomas Partey charged with multiple counts of rape

Former Arsenal FC player Thomas Partey has been charged with rape by the metropolitan police.

Ex Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey has been officially charged with different sexual related offences by the Metropolitan Police Service today, Friday, July 4, 2025.

The charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) following a thorough review of evidence submitted by detectives.

In a formal statement, the CPS confirmed, “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives.”

"The Met has now issued a charge and requisition to Partey, 32, of Hertfordshire."

Partey faces a total of six charges, including five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022.The midfielder, who plays internationally for Ghana and is a well-known figure in English football, will now be subject to legal proceedings.

As with all criminal cases, he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Neither Partey nor his legal representatives have issued a public statement at this time.

Authorities have urged the public and media to respect the ongoing legal process and avoid speculation.
