The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has directed the newly constituted Interim Management Committee of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Golf Club to commence work immediately.
The committee will operate under the supervision of the club’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, President of the Court of Appeal.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the Interim Management Committee is chaired by Dr. Peter Deshi, with Barrister Yomi Oyelola serving as Secretary.
Other appointed members include Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, Arc. Nanwor Mamven, Mrs. Ekanem Ekwueme, Arc. Arabi Bello, Lawan Aboki, Okey Nnaedozie, Fred Otobo, and Julius Fadairo.
The establishment of the committee follows recent internal challenges at the prestigious IBB Golf Club. Minister Wike had earlier stressed the FCT Administration’s commitment to restoring order, professionalism, and efficiency within the club’s operations.
He also reaffirmed that the IBB Golf Club remains the property of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
The FCT authorities have expressed optimism that the Interim Management Committee will stabilize the club’s operations pending further decisions on its long-term administration.
