Inter Milan captain, Lautaro Martinez has seriously told his team-mates that anyone who doesn’t want to stay at the club should leave this summer.
Martinez spoke following Inter Milan’s 2-0 shock defeat to Fluminense in the Club World Cup Round of 16 tie on Monday.
Fluminense took the lead in the third minute of the encounter, when German Cano headed home a deflected cross.
Substitute Hercules then added a second goal late on, as the Brazilian club pulled off a historic victory.
The outcome of the encounter means Inter Milan are now out of the competition, while Fluminense progress to the last-8.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Martinez insisted that his message to Inter Milan players is very clear.
The Argentina attacker said: “I want to fight for top titles. Who wants to stay at Inter, very good and let’s fight. Who doesn’t want to stay, they can go and leave.
“We need players who want to be here. We are wearing an important jersey. We need top mentality or please, leave.
“I’m the captain and my message is very clear. Whoever doesn’t want to stay at the club, goodbye.”
