Governor Zulum bans sale of fuel in Bama LGA over resurgence of Boko Haram

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has ordered an immediate ban on the sale of petrol across Bama Local Government Area, including Bama town and the border community of Banki, in a move aimed at strengthening counter-insurgency operations in the region. The directive followed consultations with security agencies and is part of the state governments broader strategy to curb the activities of insurgents in the northeastern part of the state, which borders Chad and Cameroon. I have directed the immediate ban on the sale of petrol in Bama town, Banki, and other parts of Bama Local Government Area with immediate effect, Zulum stated. The announcement was made through the Governors Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, in a statement issued on Saturday. The statement emphasized that the measure was a security necessity to support ongoing military efforts in the region. Zulum issued a stern warning against defiance of the directive.
