How Dangote truck caused terrible accident along Kugbo-Nyanya road – Police

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has confirmed a terrible road traffic accident that occurred on Monday evening along Kugbo-Nyanya express way.

DAILY POST reported that several persons were feared dead in the incident, which happened barely 24 hours after a fatal crash claimed several lives at the same location.

Confirming the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh explained in a statement that the accident involved a Dangote owned truck with registration number KPF 305 XA.

She said the vehicle which was driven by one Isa Salisu, reportedly suffered brake failure, leading to a terrible collision with a dispatch rider and a J5 bus with registration number WAM 45 XA.

Contrary to reports of possible casualties, the police said only three persons sustained serious injuries in the incident.

The PPRO said while one of the victims was rushed to Asokoro District Hospital, the two others were “taken to Nyanya General Hospital for medical attention”.

“The affected vehicles have been towed to the police station for further investigation.

“The FCT Police Command urges motorists to ensure proper maintenance of their vehicles and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable incidents”, she said.
