Despite the economic hardships in the country following the removal of the fuel subsidy, President Bola Tinubu said on Monday that he has no regrets about the decision.
Speaking during a media chat in Lagos State, Tinubu argued that removing the subsidy was the only pathway to the nation’s prosperity.
According to him, the decision was made to secure a better future for the coming generations.
DAILY POST reports that Tinubu announced the end of the fuel subsidy in May 2023 during his inauguration.
The removal has led to significant hardship for citizens, as the prices of commodities skyrocketed immediately after the announcement.
