
The Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, JSPCACC, has dragged the Managing Director of Jigawa Savings and Loans Nigeria Limited, Mr. Babandi Isah, to court over alleged misappropriation of funds.
This was confirmed in a statement signed by the Director of Education & Public Relations, Yusuf Suleiman, issued to DAILY POST.
He said the move follows a petition over alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of funds belonging to the bank.
According to the statement, “The commission is currently investigating a complaint of alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of funds belonging to Jigawa State Savings and Loans Nigeria Limited by its Managing Director, Mr. Babandi Isah.”
“The allegations against him include breach of trust, official corruption, and award of contracts without due process, which include an alleged unexecuted contract for the procurement of official vehicles.”
He said the allegations also include devaluation and sale of properties belonging to Jigawa Savings and Loans Ltd located at Shuwarin, Maiduguri/Kiyawa Road, and unauthorized partitioning of land belonging to Jigawa State Savings and Loans Ltd at 744 Housing Estate (Mobile Base), Dutse, Jigawa State.
Other allegations include diversion and non-remittance of PAYEE and withholding taxes to Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service, among others.
The statement noted that, based on the said allegations, the Commission has since charged the suspect to court.
