
Joint Security operatives have raided a criminal hideout and arrested fourteen suspected swindlers in Birnin kudu local Government, Jigawa State.
A resident told DAILY POST that the arrest followed series of complaints to security operatives about their heinous act within the Digawa Village, Birnin Kudu LGA.
Police spokesman, SP. Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest to DAILY POST.
According to him, “Joint security operatives comprising police, army, civil defence, DSS, vigilante and yan bulala In a coordinated intelligence-led operation, carried out a successful raid on a criminal hideout in Digawa village, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area, where suspected fraudsters are dominantly perpetrating their fraudulent activities”
SP. Shiisu explained that the operation, took place in the early hours of Thursday June 12, 2025 at about 1000hrs.
He said during the raid, security personnel arrested fourteen (14) male suspects and recovered a cache of incriminating items, including:
Nine (9) fabricated pistols, Twenty seven (27) Dane gun, Thirty seven (37) gun pieces, Four (4) motorcycles, Twelve (12) pieces of fake USD and One hundred and eighty eight (188) pieces of Central African Currency suspected to be fake were also recovered.
Other items recovered are Bow and Arrow, Metals, Animal skin, File, Saw, Vice, Blower and other criminal charms,
SP. Shiisu said the arrested suspects are currently in custody and undergoing thorough investigation, after which all will be arraigned in court for prosecution.
He urged public to continue cooperating with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities promptly within and outside their communities.
