
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reinstated the Ministry of Information that was scrapped by the administration of his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Sani also redeployed the Commissioner of Education, Professor Mohammed Sani- Bello, to head the new ministry, while a former Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, was appointed as the new Commissioner of Education.
DAILY POST reports that Sambo was a Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria and former Special Adviser to the President on Energy.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibraheem Musa, said the governor also appointed Gloria Ibrahim as the Commissioner for Youth Development.
According to the statement, the appointments and redeployment are with immediate effect.
The governor, while congratulating the appointees, said he expects the Education Commissioner Professor Sambo to reinvigorate the Kaduna State Education Ministry to deliver on his administration’s agenda, which is aimed at improving access to education, building and rehabilitating infrastructure, enhancing the capacity of teachers, harnessing the capacity of ICT, prioritising girl-child education and strengthening security in schools.
On the other hand, the Commissioner for Youth Development is expected to fashion out creative, innovative and implementable programmes and projects to make the Ministry a leading center for high impact solutions for youth related issues in line with Governor Sani’s focus on youth empowerment.
