Kaduna residents celebrate as security forces kill notorious thug

Residents of the Tudun Wada community in Kaduna metropolis, have been thrown into wild jubilation following the killing of a notorious thug, popularly called Habu Dan Damisa, who was killed by security forces bringing an end to his reign of terror.

Counter-insurgency and security expert, Zagazola Makama who posted the news on his X handle on Friday, said Damisa was a terror kingpin who held the community to ransom for many years, extorting money from the people, killing and maiming those who refused to meet up with his demands.

“Reports from Kaduna State indicate that a notorious thug, popularly known as Habu Dan Damisa, has died,” Makama wrote.

“The death of the young man, a resident of Tudun Wada area of Kaduna, occurred on Wednesday and has sparked mixed reactions among residents.

“While some community members expressed relief, celebrating the news of his passing, others showed sympathy, describing his death as a reminder of life’s fragility.

“Dan Damisa was widely feared in the area due to his violent lifestyle, but his demise has left the community divided between grief and celebration.

“He was accused of terrorising the community and allegedly responsible for the killing of several people. But as for us, all we can say is, may Allah forgive our dead and guide our offspring,” he wrote, quoting a resident.
