A Magistrate’s Court in Kano State has sentenced popular TikToker, Umar Hashim, also known as Tsulange, to one year in prison for public misconduct.

The ruling was delivered by Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan at the Gyadi Gyadi Court, following charges filed by the Kano State Censorship Board.

Hashim was arrested in June 2025 after filming a comedy skit in which he was seen bathing on a public road while dressed in women’s underwear.

The court found the act to be indecent and in violation of public morality laws.

However, the sentence may be converted to a fine of N80,000.

In addition, the court ordered Hashim to pay N20,000 to the Kano State Censorship Board to cover the costs of investigation and prosecution.
