The Kano State Hisbah Board has declared the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara, wanted for alleged adultery.

Governor Usman Namadi suspended the commissioner last weekend after he was arrested by the board operatives for an alleged romance with a housewife in Kano State.

The Board’s Commander-General, Aminu Daurawa, disclosed this at a news briefing on Monday in Kano.

Daurawa said the commissioner was allegedly caught in an uncompleted building with a married woman.

The commander added that Sankara’s arrest was made possible through intelligence tracking after the board received a series of complaints from the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, alleging the commissioner was involved in an illicit affair with his wife.

Daurawa said: “The man reported that his wife, Tasleem Nabegu, is the mother of his two children.

“We wanted to settle out of court by inviting both families, only the husband showed up, while the commissioner refused to honour the invitation but later escaped after he was bailed from Hisbah.”

He said the matter had been taken to court.

The commander urged the people of the state to report any illicit activities in their neighbourhood.

On his part, the woman’s husband appealed to the state government and other relevant stakeholders to help him get justice.

He argued that it was a crime for any married person to engage in illicit affairs.
