Calls for the return of former Attorney General of the Federation, Dr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, into the Kebbi State political scene are gaining momentum, as prominent political figures from across the state rally behind his potential 2027 gubernatorial ambition.
DAILY POST gathered that a series of consultative visits have been held in Abuja over the past week, as traditional and political leaders from Zuru, Yauri, and Gwandu Emirates expressed their support for Malami’s return to frontline politics.
Leading a strong delegation from Zuru, Hon. Babangida Alkali Saidu arrived in the capital alongside influential supporters, pledging their full backing for Malami’s candidacy.
From Yauri Emirate, Hon. Bala Horse, a seasoned grassroots mobilizer and former PDP House of Representatives aspirant, described Malami as “the bridge between Kebbi’s struggles and it’s true elevation,” adding that the former Minister remains a trusted figure across political divides.
Similarly, Hon. Abubakar B. Sabo, a former member of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, visited Malami’s private office in Abuja where he offered his formal endorsement and praised Malami’s continued commitment to the development of Kebbi State.
Sources close to the movement hinted that further consultations are expected in the coming weeks as pressure mounts on Malami to formally declare his interest.
