Veteran singer King Sunny Ade who was allegedly kidnapped has released an official statement regarding the ongoing case.

Following initial claims by Damilola Adeniyi, the daughter of renowned Juju music legend King Sunny Ade, about him reportedly being missing the Juju icon through his official social media handle has released an official statement as regards to the rumoured kidnapping.

In recent days, Damilola took to Instagram to share her worries, asserting that her father could be under manipulation and may have lost full control over his personal decisions and finances.

She stated that individuals close to the music icon, including his manager, could be involved. She then went on to urge the appropriate authorities to step in and investigate. In one of her numerous posts on the social media platform Instagram, she alleged that King Sunny Ade was being "moved around without adequate supervision." She also pointed to indicators of financial irregularities, such as unpaid hotel bills, which led her to question whether he was overseeing his affairs personally.

"I urge the authorities to intervene. I suspect financial mismanagement, and I am deeply concerned about my father’s welfare," Damilola wrote.

The juju icon through his instagram platform however countered the claims revealing that he is fine and has not been kidnapped as the initial statement declared. The press release issued by Dr. Sunday Adeniyi-Adegeye MFR, popularly known as King Sunny Ade, to refuted the claims made by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her associates, alleging that he was missing. In his statement, King Sunny Ade declared: "Contrary to the falsehood and fabricated news dated 28th April, 2025 peddled by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her Associates who declared that I was missing, I hereby state as follows:
1. That I, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi-Adegeye MFR, also known as King Sunny Ade, am alive and well.
2. The falsehood about my disappearance or being missing by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her cohorts are completely false.
3. I am alive, well and grateful for the love and support of my Fans, thanks for your concern.
4. It is very important to address the falsehood and fabricated news by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her associates and to assure the general Public and loved ones that I am alive and safe.
5. Lastly, I utilize this medium to admonish the Blogger(s) responsible for this mischievous act alongside those that take undue privileges to trample on my hard earned reputation and image to desist forthwith otherwise be prepared to face the wrath of the Law.
