Local hunters and vigilantes have rescued the five abducted wedding guests who were on their way to Odo-Owa community in Kwara State from Kogi State.
The victims who were abducted last Saturday at Obbo-Ayegunle at about 4 pm by gunmen in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara state, were rescued by local hunters and vigilantes on Tuesday.
The victims, all members of the same family in Odo-Owa community, had N100m ransom placed on their heads by the kidnappers.
Reports reaching DAILY POST in Ilorin on Wednesday, said the Chairman of Oke-Ero Local Government Area, has visited the victims in the hospital where they are receiving medical treatment.
Aside from the five abductees, eight other captives were also rescued by the hunters and vigilantes, according to unconfirmed reports.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun in Ilorin on Wednesday to react to the development were not successful.
