Sola Giwa, Special Adviser on Transportation to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stepped down from his position.
Giwa announced his resignation in a statement shared on his official X account on Wednesday, noting that he vacated the office the previous day.
“Yesterday, I stepped down from my role as Special Adviser on Transportation to the Governor of Lagos State,” he wrote.
Reflecting on his time in office, Giwa described his service as a privilege, highlighting his contributions to the state’s transport reforms under the THEMES+ Agenda.
“It has been an honour to serve and contribute to the transformation of our transport system. I remain grateful to Mr Governor for the trust and opportunity,” he added.
The former adviser explained that his decision was influenced by a desire to seek elective office, revealing plans to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
“After deep reflection and wide consultations, I am answering a higher call to represent the people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency II,” he stated.
Giwa emphasised that his next move would focus on strengthening representation and advancing meaningful legislation aimed at improving the lives of his constituents.
“This new phase is about purposeful leadership, effective lawmaking, and delivering tangible impact for our people,” he said.
