Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has strongly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following a new escalation in Lebanon.
In a statement shared on X, Sánchez said, “Just today, Netanyahu launches his harshest attack against Lebanon since the offensive began.”
He added, “His contempt for life and international law is intolerable.”
Calling for urgent international action, Sánchez stressed that Lebanon should not be left out of ongoing efforts to end the conflict.
He said, “It’s time to speak clearly,” as he pushed for broader steps to address the situation.
According to him, “Lebanon must be included in the ceasefire,” while also insisting that “the international community must condemn this new violation of international law.”
Sánchez further urged the European Union to take a firmer stance, saying, “the European Union must suspend its Association Agreement with Israel.”
He demanded accountability, stating, “there must be no impunity for these criminal acts.”
