LaLiga: ‘Player with just quality not a legend’ – Ancelotti to Modric

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, has described Luka Modric as a real legend of the club.

Ancelotti believes that quality alone does not make a player to legend, adding that the Croatian brings his soul to the game and the club.

The 39-year-old veteran midfielder made his decision to leave Los Blancos after the FIFA Club World known on Thursday.

Modric has spent 13 years in the Spanish capital city club and is currently the most decorated player in the club’s history with 28 trophies.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s clash at home against Real Sociedad, the Italian manager heaped praise on Croatia international.

“Luka Modrić has been an example for everyone. He is a legend. He’s been able to mix his quality with his soul. This is why he is a legend. A player with just quality is not a legend.”

Modric moved to Madrid from north London side, Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.

During this period, the legendary midfielder played 590 games, scoring 43 goals and providing 95 assists.
