Liverpool set up Newcastle final in Carabao Cup

Liverpool have booked their place in the final of the Carabao Cup after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in their semifinal tie.

The Reds trailed 1-0 from the first leg in Lodon, but put up a super performance at Anfield, sealing a 4-0 win.

Goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominic Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk secured the big win for the hosts who are now in the final.

Liverpool are flying under head coach Arne Slot and triumph in the EFL Cup would present the Dutch manager with a first piece of silverware at Anfield.

The Reds are currently top of the Premier League, sitting six points clear while still in the FA Cup and cruising through to the Champions League last 16.

For Tottenham, they have just lost yet another opportunity to end their 17-year trophy drought.
