The people of Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa State have requested Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to create a first-class monarchy, to be known as the Madagali Chiefdom.
The people requested on Monday during a courtesy call to the governor at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola, where they presented a memo to that effect.
A former governor of the state, Bala Ngillari, who presented the request on behalf of the delegation from Madagali, said the quest for the creation of the Madagali Chiefdom was collective.
Ngilari disclosed that if approved, the Madagali Chiefdom would have its headquarters in Guluk, currently the headquarters of Madagali LGA.
Governor Fintiri, who is himself from Madagali LGA, thanked the people for the visit.
He assured them that his administration would consider their request on its merit.
He said that in general terms, his government will continue to do well and the people of Adamawa State will always be carried along in the affairs of the state.
