
A 25-year-old man identified as Abubakar Musa has been arrested by operatives of Ajuwon division of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others in Ifo Local Government Area.
The suspect reportedly attacked the victims with a knife at about 1:38 am on Tuesday, after a failed business transaction in Olambe community.
The victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim, aged 25, and one 40 years old Mr Chinedu, were confirmed dead on arrival to the hospital while 35 years old Mohammed Abubakar, as well as Ashiru Adamu and Paul Lawrence, both aged 25, are in critical condition but responding to treatment.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, told DAILY POST that the victims were stabbed while trying to calm the angry suspect.
Babaseyi stated that the suspect ran away after the attack but was later caught by detectives.
“On Tuesday, 7th April 2026, at about 0138hrs, the suspect stabbed five people. Two of them, Gbadamasi Ibrahim ‘M’, aged 25, and Chinedu ‘M’, aged 40, died while being taken to the hospital. A doctor confirmed their deaths.
“The other three victims, Mohammed Abubakar ‘M’, aged 35, Ashiru Adamu ‘M’, aged 25, and Paul Lawrence ‘M’, aged 25, are in critical condition but responding to treatment.
“He is now in police custody. The case and the suspect have been sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation and prosecution,” Babaseyi added.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and promised that justice will be served.
Ojajuni also urged residents of the state to always stay alert and report any suspicious or violent behaviour to the police.
