The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, sitting in Gudu, has ordered the remand of one Mr Suleiman Danjuma, over the alleged defilement of two minors.

The defendant was arraigned before Justice M.M. Adamu.

The defendant, represented by two counsels, pleaded “not guilty” to the two counts charged against him by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT Command.

Earlier, the prosecuting counsel, Alexander Agbo, told the court that the defendant was on trial for allegedly defiling two female minors, aged 8 and 10 years old, respectively.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 1(1) &(2) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.

In view of the defendant’s plea, Agbo prayed the court for a “Remand Order” pending the hearing and determination of the case.

Justice Adamu granted the application and consequently ordered that the defendant be remanded in Kuje Correctional facility while adjourning the case to September 21 2026 for trial.
