Kylian Mbapp has reached another Champions League milestone, becoming the competitions sixth all-time leading goalscorer by surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy. The French forward scored twice from the penalty spot to secure a 21 win for Real Madrid over Marseille in Xabi Alonsos first Champions League match as coach of the 15-time European champions. Mbapp now has 57 goals in Europes premier club competition at just 26 years old, equaling Thomas Mllers tally and moving above Van Nistelrooy, who has 56. He achieved the feat in 88 Champions League appearances, compared to Van Nistelrooys 73. The strikers brace also contributed to a strong start to his 202526 season, with six goals in five appearances for Real Madrid. His efforts have helped the Spanish side navigate a chaotic night against Marseille, which saw Trent Alexander-Arnold pick up a hamstring injury and Dani Carvajal sent off. Since joining Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain, Mbapp has scored 50 goals in 64 appearances, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the squad.
