Mob burns tricycle of alleged phone thieves in Kano

In a dramatic display of mob justice, angry youths on Saturday night set ablaze a tricycle, popularly known as Adaidaita Sahu, along Ibrahim Taiwo Road in Kano.

The tricycle was allegedly being used by suspected phone thieves to steal in the area.

The suspects were apprehended by the crowd after their vehicle was destroyed and subsequently handed over to the police.

Speaking on the incident, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, confirmed the arrest of the suspects. He disclosed that five mobile phones were recovered from them, and they remain in police custody while investigations are underway.

The Kano State Police Command has called on the public to avoid taking matters into their own hands and instead report criminal activities to the authorities to ensure justice is served lawfully.
