The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, has said it received 124 human rights violation complaints in March and April.
The NHRC state Coordinator, Alhaji Shehu Abdullahi, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Kano.
He said that 71 of the cases had been treated, while 53 were pending.
Abdullahi said 83 cases were on children’s, women and gender abuses.
He said:”20 of the cases received during the period under review are on abandonment of family responsibility and domestic violence.
“The remaining 21 cases are on economy and cultural rights, labour and physical violence rights,’’ he said.
He further explained that the commission also meditated on marital matters.
Abdullahi urged couples to be more patient with one another in order to manage their responsibilities jointly.
