The Federal Government has announced that it will close Ijora Bridge in Lagos State on Sunday, 18 May 2025.
This is according to a statement by the Ministry of Works signed by Olukorede Kesha, Federal Controller of Works, Lagos.
The government advised commuters to seek alternative routes.
It stated that closure will be total at some sections of the bridge and partial at other sections.
The closure is to enable the government to carry out repair work on the bridge and also to improve road safety and enhance the driving experience of motorists.
“This will ensure a smoother, safer roadway. The ministry has carefully worked on diversion routes and traffic management. Residents and businesses within the closure zone are encouraged to plan accordingly,” Kesha advised.
