1. No fewer than 39 Nigerians lost their lives following stampedes during food-sharing events in Okija, Anambra State, and Maitama, Abuja, on Saturday. 2. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has reduced its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly referred to as petrol, to N899 per litre. This decision, coming days after the Dangote Refinery reduced its price to N899, was confirmed by the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria in a statement on Saturday.

9. The Anambra Police Command says it recorded 38 cases of Gender-Based Violence, GBV in the state between January and December 21, 2024. CSP Adaobi Elosia, Officer-in-Charge of GBV in the state, made the disclosure in an interview on Saturday in Amawbia.
10. President Bola Tinubu on Saturday cancelled all his official events in Lagos, including his attendance at the 2024 Lagos Boat Regatta to mourn the stampede victims in Abuja and Okija, Anambra. His media aide, Bayo Onanuga made this known in a statement.
