Governors from Nigeria’s Northwest region have reaffirmed their commitment to collective action in addressing the pressing socio-economic challenges confronting their states.

This resolution was made during the Northwest Governors Forum held in Kaduna, where leaders from the region’s seven states gathered to chart a unified path forward.

Forum Chairman and Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, emphasized that the region continues to battle common issues such as insecurity, poverty, and underdevelopment, which require a regional, rather than isolated, approach.

He called for enhanced collaboration among the states to ensure more effective and impactful interventions.

Also speaking at the meeting, Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships with development agencies like UNICEF and other international organizations.

He said such alliances would help boost progress in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment across the region.

The governors collectively pledged to align development strategies, share resources, and coordinate responses as part of a long-term vision to transform the Northwest into a more secure and prosperous zone.
