Remo Stars captain, Nduka Junior says the team is aware of the threat posed by Rivers United in their bid to win the Nigeria Premier Football League ,NPFL, title.
The Sky Blue Stars currently enjoyed a seven-point lead over second-placed Rivers United with seven games remaining before the end of the season.
Nduka said last weekend’s 1-0 away win against the Shooting Stars moved the team close to achieving their objective.
“It was an amazing feeling after the game in Ibadan. The win moved us to achieving our target, which is the title,” Nduka told 54footballx.
“We are aware of our rivals, Rivers United are closing up the margin, we are not there yet, it is just a matter of few more games to finish up.We will continue to fight until the end.”
Remo Stars have earned 65 points from 34 matches.
They will take on the Niger Tornadoes in their next league game this weekend.
