Sunshine Stars head coach, Bobola Akinfolarin, has said that the team is still waiting for the management’s decision following their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Owena Whales relegation was confirmed after their 2-1 defeat to Niger Tornadoes at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday.
Sunshine Stars will face El-Kanemi Warriors in their last match of the season in Maiduguri.
Akinfolarin admitted that the encounter will just be a formality.
“The match against El Kanemi is just a formality,” Akinfolarin said.
“We are only going there to honour the game and see what the management will decide after the match.”
Sunshine Stars recorded 11 wins, eight draws and 17 defeats from 37 NPFL matches.
