The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has admonished Corps members to avoid every act of criminality during their service year.
He cautioned that the Scheme is not an abode for criminal elements but for individuals of good morals who are ready to contribute their quota to the development of their host communities.
He stated this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members at NYSC Kwara State Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of the State.
He added that there is no immunity for any Corps member who violates the NYSC Bye-Law and other laws of the country.
“Don’t consume hard drugs, avoid fraud, hooliganism and other forms of misconduct that can lead you to trouble.
“Don’t violate the Scheme’s Bye-Law. Avoid night travelling and respect the constituted authorities because offenders would be sanctioned”, he said.
General Ahmed also advised the Corps members to adhere strictly to the NYSC dress code.
While presenting the Camp situation report to the DG, NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr Joshua Onifade said a total of 1,319 Corps members comprising 593 males and 726 females were registered.
He stated further that the Corps members have exhibited a high level of discipline and have comported themselves in an orderly manner in all their assigned duties since they arrived at camp.
