Ogun merchant calls for collaboration to develop education sector

An Ogun state-based property merchant, Armstrong Akintunde, has said collaborative efforts are needed to further develop the education sector in the country.

Akintunde noted that every student’s academic performance is impacted by the school infrastructure both in positive and negative ways.

He emphasized that while the government is making every effort to improve the standard of education nationwide, their efforts remain insufficient.

Akintunde maintained that following the nation’s vast population and its many conflicting demands, all pertinent stakeholders should work together to assist the government in their efforts, especially in the education sector.

Akintunde stated this while speaking with newsmen shortly after being elected as President of the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Students Association, Iperu Remo, on Sunday.

He said, “We all know that the government cannot do it alone; we must, therefore, as stakeholders and old students, be ready to deploy our resources and influence to complement the efforts of the government in upscaling the infrastructural drive of the school while also supporting the students to excel in their studies”.

The Iperu Remo-born real estate magnate called for the cooperation and support of the old students to move the association forward, saying that no efforts will be spared to mobilise for further development of the school.
