Several passengers onboard the United Airlines flight UA613 sustained injury as the aircraft made an emergency return to Lagos.

The Washington bound flight with 245 passengers, eight flight attendants and three pilots made direct return to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, while outbound over Ivory Coast airspace.

The flight was said to have lost pressure and had a sharp descent, a situation that caused several passengers and crew members to sustain injuries.

The incident was however blamed on technical issues.

“Flight UA613 from Lagos to Washington D.C. returned to Lagos to address a technical issue. After landing safely, the aircraft was met by first responders to address reports of minor injuries to several passengers and crew,” the airline told Vanguard.
