
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a fake soldier and three other suspected car thieves in Jigawa State.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Shiisu Lawan Adam confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to DAILY POST on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the suspects were arrested on Tuesday at about 7:50 am by operatives attached to Kafin Hausa Division after they were involved in a lone accident with a stolen vehicle at Sabon Sara village, Kafin Hausa LGA.
SP Shiisu said the suspects, who escaped the scene, were promptly apprehended by vigilant police operatives.
He said prior to their arrest, police received a report from one Hussaini Manager at Kafin Hausa Division that on September 7, 2025, at about 8 pm, unknown persons stole his blue Golf saloon vehicle with registration number MGA 108 JG at Agura Motor Park in Kafin Hausa LGA.
Shiisu said, preliminary investigation revealed that one of the suspects who impersonates Lance Corporal Kabiru Musa of the 102 Guard Brigade, FCT Abuja, and a resident of Rimin Kebe Quarters, Kano State, was arrested.
He said a car, seven different ATM cards, two driver’s licenses, and other incriminating items linked to fraudulent activities were recorded in their possession.
The suspects have been charged in court after completion of a discreet investigation.
The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Dahiru Muhammad, commended the operatives of Kafin Hausa Division for their professionalism and resilience, which led to the arrest.
