Police in Ebonyi presents cheques to families of deceased, wounded officers

The Ebonyi State Police Commissioner, Anthonia Uche-Anya, has presented cheques of over twenty-five million to families of deceased and wounded officers.

The Uche-Anya presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun through beneficiaries of Group Life Assurance / Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Scheme.

This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki.

The Commissioner of Police, who empathized with the families of the deceased and wounded officers, was represented on the occasion by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, DCP Muhammed Alhaji Muhammed.

She charged the recipients to put to good use what they have received and also take care of the dependents left behind by the deceased officers.

During the presentation, adult male recipients were cautioned to be of good behaviour, invest their time wisely, and shun bad vices.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Nwali Emmanuel appreciated the Inspector-General of Police and promised that they would use the money to uplift their different families.
