Properties worth millions destroyed as fire guts Nasarawa residence

A devastating fire outbreak has razed the home of respected community member Mallam Umar Tijjani on Shagari Road in Nasarawa Town, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

Although no lives were lost, eyewitnesses say the inferno engulfed the entire building, leaving nothing but charred remains of household items, documents, and personal belongings.

Efforts to extinguish the fire were severely hampered due to a broken-down fire service van in the area. The delay in response allowed the fire to spread unchecked for an extended period, causing further destruction and panic among residents.

“This is heartbreaking,” said a neighbor who witnessed the blaze. “We called the fire service immediately, but they said their van had broken down. By the time anything could be done, the house was gone.”

As of press time, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
