R Kelly’s daughter, Abi, says she almost committed suicide after he s3xually abused her

26-year-old Buku Abi, the daughter of sensational R&B singer, Robert Kelly popularly R. Kelly has disclosed that the she almost committed suicide when her father s3xually abused when she was younger.

Abi, born Joann Kelly, who disclosed this on TVEI Streaming Network’s two-episode documentary ‘Karma: A Daughter’s Journey’ stated that her father’s abuse triggered multiple suicide attempts and a stay in a mental hospital.

She noted that she was really in a hard place for a long time and she tried to take her life multiple times but she ended up in the psyche ward of a mental hospital.

‘’For a long time I was in a really hard space mentally and so I ended up in a mental hospital, a psych ward, whatever you want to call it… because I hit a point in my life where multiple times, I had tried to take my own life,’ she said.

Abi noted that she was immediately taken to a mental hospital by her mother where she was placed on a hard suicide watch after she had told her what her father did to her.

She disclosed that mother, Andrea, wasted no time as she checked her into the hospital that day, and she stayed for two-and-a-half weeks under frequent observation.

‘’I was on really hard suicide watch. And then for two, three months after that, I was in outpatient basically, so I had to go there every day,’ she said.

‘I just got to a point where I didn’t care anymore. I didn’t care if I lived or died. I didn’t care about what happened to me,’ she said.

‘She just immediately dropped everything and was asking, “What’s going on? Are you OK?”

‘She was really worried, and in that moment, I broke down, and I had to tell her like, “I don’t think I’m OK. I don’t think that I can do this. I don’t think that I’m going to make it through to live out the rest of my life”.’

She said that she was abused by her father as a child, and she first reported it to her mother Andrea in 2009 and she did not want to believe that what her father did to her really happened.

“He was my everything. For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person he would do something to me.

“I was too scared to tell anybody. I was too scared to tell my mom.” She added.

Abi, says she thinks jail is a “well-suited place” for Kelly, 57, because she knows from “personal experience,” even though she does not go into detail about the alleged abuse in the first episode.

“I really feel like that one millisecond completely just changed my whole life and changed who I was as a person and changed the sparkle I had and the light I used to carry,” she says. “After I told my mom, I didn’t go over there anymore; my brother [Robert] and sister [Jaah], we didn’t go over there anymore. And even up until now, I struggle with it a lot.” She said.
