Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that US president Donald Trump has added more demands to his initial demand for mineral deals.

Now the US could own and run Ukrainian nuclear power plants as part of a ceasefire.

The Ukrainian president made this development known following his phone conversation with the American leader.

Giving his war briefing on Wednesday, Zelenskyy said “we talked only about one power plant, which is under Russian occupation.”

He was making reference to Zaporizhzhia, Europe’s largest nuclear power station.

The US said it had “moved beyond” the idea of taking possession of Ukraine’s mineral wealth as part of negotiations.

“We are now focused on a long-term peace agreement,” said White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.

President Trump talked to Zelenskyy on Wednesday a day after his phone call to President Vladimir Putin where Moscow agreed to cease attacks on Ukrainian energy plants.
