At least five people have been killed, including a toddler, after a car ploughed into a bustling Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany.
CNN reports that German authorities said over 200 people were injured, including around 40 people with critical injuries.
According to the report, the suspected driver, who is believed to have acted alone, has been arrested.
He is a 50-year-old man and a doctor from Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, travelled to Magdeburg on Saturday to visit the site of the market attack, with other key politicians.
Scholz told the people during a press briefing that “we need to stick together as a country and not let hatred divide us.”
While Germany’s Interior Minister Nancy Faeser called the suspect an “Islamophobe.”
