Shehu Marshal returns to APC as Kebbi leaders celebrate ‘timely homecoming’

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State has welcomed back one of its former chieftains, Barrister Shehu Marshal, following his return to the party after a brief stint with the opposition.

Marshal, a former Chairman of Jega Local Government and past Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, in the state, was celebrated by APC stakeholders for what they described as a “timely homecoming.”

DAILY POST gathered that his return was facilitated through reconciliation efforts led by Governor Nasir Idris and Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the current Minister of Budget and Economic Planning.

Both leaders were said to have played key roles in convincing Marshal to rejoin the APC, citing his contributions to grassroots development and political stability in the state.

Shehu Marshal, who once contested for a seat in the Kebbi State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is widely seen as a resilient and principled figure in Kebbi politics.

Party leaders said his return signals renewed strength for the APC in Jega and other parts of the state.

“This is more than a political alignment, it reflects the inclusive and forward-looking approach of our leadership,” one party official told Daily Post.

Supporters believe Marshal’s legal expertise and grassroots experience will further enhance the party’s position ahead of future elections, especially as Kebbi State pushes forward with its development agenda.

APC leaders described his return as a reflection of the party’s commitment to unity, reconciliation, and progress, urging members to remain united and focused on strengthening the party across Kebbi State.
