President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian military to bring an end to banditry by 2025, according to Minister of State for Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle. Matawalle made the announcement on Saturday, December 21, while addressing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Gusau residence. He assured that the military is committed to fully complying with the Presidents directive and will intensify efforts to tackle the menace. The former governor of Zamfara State revealed that the Federal Government has finalized plans to deploy additional troops and advanced military equipment to the troubled North-West region. Expressing concern over the role of informants in aiding banditry, Matawalle said, The Federal Government and military chiefs are very much disturbed over the issue of informants aiding the bandits. That is the major challenge for not winning the war against bandits. The governments renewed strategy reflects its commitment to addressing the security challenges in the region, with hopes of restoring peace and stability. The post
