Troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully rescued 50 kidnap victims and recovered 32 rustled cows after repelling a bandit attack in Raudama village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the attempted raid occurred around 8:00 p.m. on April 27, when armed bandits stormed the community.
Prompt action by a combined team of army and police personnel led to the swift deployment of joint patrol forces, who engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle. The security forces eventually overpowered the criminals, forcing them to flee.
During the operation, all 50 kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed, and the stolen cattle were recovered.
However, two individuals — Mai’ Unguwa Isah Biredi, 50, and Hassan Na Sakaka, 40 — sustained injuries during the encounter. They were promptly taken to the General Hospital in Funtua for treatment.
