The incident was made known in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday along Jwak village, when troops responded to a distress call about suspected criminals trying to snatch a motorcycle from a rider.

The victim, identified as Shuaibu Ayuba, was reportedly attacked by the suspects before the arrival of the troops.

“The swift intervention by the troops disrupted the attack and the suspects escaped,” the sources said.

The victim was rescued and immediately taken to a medical centre in Mangu for treatment.
Sources added that efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects, while security patrols had been increased in the area to prevent further attacks.
