Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has said Victor Boniface will be included in the squad for the UEFA Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.
Boniface is working his way back to full fitness following a spell on the sidelines due to injury.
The 24-year-old copped a thigh injury on international duty last November and has missed the Bundesliga champions last 12 games across all competitions.
The forward is now in line to make a return to action after returning to full training.
“We trained again this morning and then we decided that Victor Boniface can go on the UCL trip to Madrid with the team,” Alonso told a press conference.
“He is getting better and better and he will be in the squad tomorrow (today). This is very positive news for all of us and of course for him. Boni is feeling good and it’s great that he is back with us.”
The striker has registered eight goals and one assist in 15 appearances across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season.
