Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has expressed joy after watching Inter Milan’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg encounter against Barcelona on Tuesday night.
Henry thanked both teams for putting up a brilliant performance at the San Siro.
Recall that Inter defeated Barcelona 4-3 to qualify for the final on a 7-6 aggregate victory.
Goals from Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu, Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo, Raphinha and Francesco Acerbi had ensured the game ended in a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes before Davide Frattesi’s extra-time winning goal for the hosts.
Speaking after the game, Henry, a former Barcelona striker, said (via CBS Sports): “I have been bored watching football for the past one or two years, bored. So, thank you, Inter, and thank you, Barcelona.
“Tonight, that is why I love football, that’s why we all love football, this is what we want to see. We want to see teams going at each other, being open, playing.
“What we have seen and Alessandro [Del Piero] said, home and away, usually you have a team that has a good game, then you have a comeback.”
