Controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has alleged that the United States, US, is interested in Nigeria’s resources.
Gumi made the remark on his official Facebook page while describing Western countries as predators.
He wrote: “Nigeria needs to listen to this man. The West is a predator. US’s attention is now on Nigerian resources.
“Nobody cries for terrorists. But every patriotic citizen should cry for our sovereignty.
“Aerial bombing of stationary targets is no rocket science that demands foreign forces firing on our land.
“The Thucydides Trap is a political theory stating that when a rising power threatens to displace an established ruling power, the resulting structural stress makes the likelihood of armed conflict incredibly high.
“The first sign of the USA’s downfall is the absence of intellectuals but merchants of dollars and warmongers.”
