You can’t trade ‘renewed hope’ for recycled political jokes — Klinsmann blasts ADC, David Mark

A top member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and policy analyst from Anambra State, Pharmacist Ikeagwuonwu Chinedu Klinsmann, has criticised the newly formed opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He described the coalition as a recycled political joke led by expired power seekers.

This was contained in a statement personally signed and released by him on Thursday in Abuja.

Klinsmann particularly took aim at former Senate President David Mark, who was recently announced as the interim chairman of the ADC coalition.

He questioned Mark’s credibility and past record, accusing him of contributing to Nigeria’s political and economic struggles.

“What exactly is David Mark coming back to do? He spent 12 years in the Senate, including eight years as Senate President, yet he couldn’t bring meaningful development even to Otukpo, his hometown. Otukpo still has no good roads. He always flew there in a helicopter. So much for leadership.”

Klinsmann also reminded Nigerians of David Mark’s past comments while serving as Minister of Communications during a military regime, where he allegedly said that telephones are not for the poor.

According to Klinsmann, such a statement shows the former Senate President’s disconnect from the needs of ordinary Nigerians.

He said the ADC coalition is made up of frustrated politicians from different parties including PDP, Labour Party, and even APC who have failed the country before and are now trying to return to power through the back door.

“This is not a movement. It is a gang-up of political relics who want to confuse Nigerians. They have no plan, no clear ideology, and certainly no new ideas. Their only goal is power for themselves,” Klinsmann said.

He argued that while the opposition is busy spreading confusion, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is focused on building a stronger Nigeria.

He pointed to recent reforms in the economy, foreign exchange market, and infrastructure development under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“President Tinubu may not be perfect, but he is purposeful. He has stabilised the naira, is working on major projects like the Lagos-Calabar highway, and is fixing our railway networks. No serious Nigerian should trade this steady progress for a recycled political joke,” he added.

“No serious Nigerian would exchange the Renewed Hope Agenda for a backward march into the recycled chaos of the ADC coalition.”

“We are beginning to see peace return to areas once controlled by bandits and insurgents. These are real results, not campaign slogans.”

He urged young Nigerians, especially from the Southeast, to reject what he called “another round of political distraction.”

According to him, many of the people behind the new coalition were part of the problem Nigeria has faced since the return to democracy in 1999.

“They annulled your parents’ votes in 1993. They ruined your future from 1999. Now, they want to hijack your voice ahead of 2027. Say no to them,” Klinsmann said.

He also mocked the ADC’s attempt to copy APC’s name and style. “They even picked an acronym that looks like APC. But Nigerians know the difference between real change and fake branding,” he said.

Klinsmann concluded by calling on Nigerians to unite around Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and resist the return of politicians who, according to him, have nothing new to offer.

“We cannot allow a cabal of expired politicians to derail the progress of over 200 million Nigerians. The ADC coalition has no plans, no ideology, no compass. It is a coalition of self-service, not nation-building. President Tinubu is not perfect, but he is purposeful, and Nigeria is finally heading somewhere.”

“The 2027 election will not be about tired slogans or failed politicians. It will be about who can deliver. President Tinubu has started delivering, and Nigerians must stand by him,” he said.
