A reliable intelligence source told journalists in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital that the killings occurred as a result of series of violent confrontations between the two factions.

It was also learnt that Idi Mai Randa had previously led an attack that resulted to the killing of one of Dogo Gide’s gang member, which the source said prompted Gide’s vow to revenge.

“Randa’s death came days after the killing of Ya’u, another notorious terrorist kingpin who had been previously captured in Tsafe Local Government Area of the State”, the source added.

Ya’u, a very close foot soldier of Idi Mai Randa, was fingered to be responsible for numerous attacks and was believed to be in possession of sophisticated weapons for the gang.

DAILY POST also learnt that the troops of Operation Fansan Yamma, in collaboration with its Air Component and other security operatives, have continued to unleash attacks on terrorists’ hideouts.

The joint operations have been yielding positive results as the troops have neutralized several terrorists’ kingpins and recovered valuable assets.
