American music star Chris Brown has sent a strong and unapologetic message to both his critics and fans, addressing an issue that has trailed his career for years.
American R&B star Chris Brown has publicly voiced his frustration over ongoing comparisons with other artists.
The award-winning singer and performer took to his Instagram page with a candid message, urging fans and critics to stop pitting him against fellow musicians.
In his message to fans, Chris Brown expressed that the constant “versus” debates have become tiring, especially given the unique path his career has taken.
“I wish y’all stop comparing me to other artists and saying me vs someone else,” he wrote. “Until one of these artists do all this by themselves with no help and the media constantly messing with them, then come talk to me.”
The Sensational hitmaker didn’t hold back, reminding everyone that he’s remained consistent in the industry for over two decades, weathering personal and professional storms while staying dedicated to his craft.
“I do this to feed my family. I’ve been consistent for 20 years. It’s not a competition for me,” he added.
Chris Brown’s remarks follow years of fan-fueled debates comparing him to music legends like Michael Jackson and Usher, as well as peers including Trey Songz, Mario, T-Pain, and Akon. But for Brown, the message is clear, he’s in a lane of his own, and he’s no longer interested in being stacked against anyone else.
